kamdens birth story

its already been a month since our little man joined us.... time really does fly by.
i figure i better get this wrote down somewhere before i forget it in my old age.

october 3rd at 6 am i got induced at avera queen of peace hospital in mitchell, sd and i was at 2 cm.
donnie and i left our house around five and it was a quiet ride down. we both were tired and im sure nervous. i never did get very nervous about labor because it was out of my control and it had to come out some how. we get there and get checked in and la de dah... meet our first of many nurses and get this thing started. around 7 am they had my ivs in and the pitosin started- not knowing how long we'd actually be there. i just remember being so uncomfortable because i had to lay on my back so they could keep me hooked up to monitors to see my contractions and the baby's heart beat. so in the middle of the night the nurse asked if maybe i should get off the pitosin since my body isn't really reacting and go sit in the tub for awhile to keep from getting sore from being on my back. it was already a sleepless night so i went ahead and pretty much slept the night in the tub. needless to say, the nurse found me clunked out sleeping in the bathroom and forced me to get back on the monitors. now... 24 hours have come and gone and we all know im not very patient. they shut off the pitosin and gave me this pill (i dont remember what it was) and needless to say.......i didnt react to it at all!! ehhh, annoying. they couldnt do anything for me for another 5 hours incase that pill would kick in. it was at this point that i went to the bathroom and cried and cried and cried. (embrassing!) i than played tough guy and said if my water doesnt get broke than i am going home. donnie got nervous and quick texted my mom telling her to get down here because i was getting pretty worked up. :) ohhh donnie! soooo we broke my water and they gave me some more pills and whoa, labor had started. i had two hours of intense contractions, found out i dont want coaching nor anybody touching me or anybody telling jokes, ahem donnie. got an epidural and was sleeping until midnight. at midnight we began pushing and i would push and than start snoring in between contractions from being so dang tired. donnie and reta made fun of me, drank coffee, complained that i got to sleep and watched the nanny while i pushed/slept. around 3 pm-- still no baby and doctor came in and sure enough he was stuck. forseps out and not to much later kamden was here with his cord wrapped around his neck twice. poor little fella- we had no idea because he showed no destress while pushing. doctor sewed me up for a little over an hour with my lovely third degree tears. held my little man for a little bit before my old pressure bottomed out and i was out for the night while donnie played father of the year and took lots and lots of pictures for us. ahhhh such a nice guy!!
we had great nurses through out the whole 45 hours of labor. my phone makes a bubble noise when i get a text message and one of the nurses thought my water broke at one point.

im sure im missing things but overall there is his story. there are some moments that should be left untold (ehehhehehehhehhe) or unless off the internet. :D

kamden has arrived

kamden joseph hamiel arrived wednesday, october 5th, 2011 at 3:37 am at avera queen of peace hospital in mitchell, sd by dr. elizabeth campbell. he was 20 inches long and 8.5 lbs with long fingers/toes and a head full of hair. daddy and grandma pazour were mommy's cheerleaders through 45 hours of labor. thankfully, it was not always hard labor but there were a lot of discomforting moments and lots of emotions in that time frame.

39 weeks!!

thought i better take another picture incase labor sneaks up on me-- on the left is 36 weeks and the right is 39 weeks!!

we have offically dropped people. that is about the most exciting news i have for you other than we are right on track for delivering probably next week. if i dont go on my own than we will get induced the week of october 2nd. for some reason donnie has been wanting an october 2nd baby and for some reason i bet he has me jinxed. ehhhh, karma will take care of him later for me, right? :)

miserable? no. impatient? yes.

i have nooooo patience and im learning a whole lot about it the last couple weeks. im still sleeping through out the nights with 1-2 bathroom breaks, wedding ring has been off for awhile but other than that, we're holding in there. well on the days i dont pout around and allow myself to be crabby because im pregnant. ;)

SOME day i will get some pictures of his room on here for you-- i been so anxious to get it done and now that its done i havent even displayed it. bah bum ba...

nesting hasnt really sat in but i like to think that my house is usually pretty clean- not always- so therefore, i dont think ill nest. maybe im in denial and that is why he isnt coming. the other night i did have donnie folding some towels. praise the lord, it was such a beautiful sight to see!

36 eeeeeeeeekkkks!!

36 weeks tomorrow people, eek!! its the last day of august and we're hopefully going to have our little man within the next month.
we started our weekly appts today and im 1 cm and 30% affected........so we are no where close to having him. hopefully things move along quickly because i have no patience...and its killing me! lately i feel as if im in the 1st trimester again of always being sooooo dang tired, so hungary, wedding ring is off and ive lost my ankles. BUT i did manage to squuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeezzzeee into a pair of pre maternity pants this week. i was only turning purple in the morning. :)

i realize its been awhile since ive posted but we have been blessed to be having such a healthy pregnancy! we have picked a name awhile back but i dont know if it ever got on our blog. his name will be kamden joseph hamiel, his poppa named him. his room and everything is ready to go besides packing our hospital bags. i plan on doing that this weekend as i have wishful thinking of devliering in the next couple weeks. if he is anything like his mother it will be october before we meet him. his poppa donnie wants an october baby and he has gotten everything else he has wanted this pg so it will probably be october. oh well... just being a healthy baby will be the best gift ever!

alright-- well im considering heading to bed right about now.......im. so. tired.

24 weeks

another week down-- we are at 24 weeks already!
this week i have officially felt the baby kicking on the outside. donnie hasnt felt it yet but one of our friends has. he sure is active in there! im still continue to be tired...story of my life.

last weekend i took friday off and went to henry to see my sister nicole and her family. karli is going to be 6 this summer along with kylynn turning 1 this summer. i always enjoy my time up there. nicole and i hit up rummages and i got allllll this baby's clothes up to 12 months! yipee!
we than took the girls to the zoo and than i had a bachlorette party that evening. such a fun weekend!
