28 weeks to go

We have reached our 12 week mark...which almost puts us out of our first trimester. It is going by so slow but yet so fast at the same time. The day to days seem long but overall it is going by quickly.

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

appointment update: we met with our new doctor and liked her, which is a huge relief. we got to hear the heart beat today....it was crazy! they also tested me today for diabetes and actually i can't really complain about the 'orange soda' you have to drink all within five minutes. they will test me again at 28 weeks too. we talked about me being a negative blood type, which doesn't mean a lot to me except i get to get two more shots. ew, i hate shots!!! BUT donnie can get tested to see what his blood type is and if he is one kind than itll save me at least one shot. i signed him up! and also i have a good chance of getting ruebella because my levels are so low. yeah...that also requires another shot. she told me to expect our little on here last week of september to the first two weeks of october. also they refer to my due date of september 30th rather than the 29th. i guess its all the same time frame so i should just start saying beginning of october it'll be here! don is doing great with everything. he is more senstive to things, helping around the house a lot more and also reading his book on from the father's side of things. he just reads it up to the point we're at i guess...so he says. guess we'll find out at the end how much he read! :)

sunni and oscar have been soaking up this nice weather!! we have been doing a lot of walking and thankfully i haven't gained any weight and even managed to loose some along the way. YES, even better!!!
